Beauty Marks: The Best Beauty Looks of the Week

Spring's beauty moment has arrived, and it's loud, shiny, and completely unbothered about your minimalism phase. According to Vogue, this week's celebrity beauty landscape was essentially a masterclass in metallics — chrome nails appearing on Demi Lovato, Jennie, and Demi Lovato alike, while Chanel's resort 2027 show in Biarritz served dégradé manicures courtesy of nail artist Ama Quashie. High-shine isn't a trend at this point; it's a permanent state of being.

Nail artist Mei Kawajiri had a week worth documenting twice: first, a mirror-finish chrome French manicure for Lovato, then a nude-and-black architectural design for Jennie at the Time 100 Gala — the latter pulled directly from the Schiaparelli dress she wore. When your nails are referencing couture, you've officially entered a different tier. Meanwhile, Euphoria's head makeup artist Donni Davy brought Jules back with intention: spiky lower lashes and a frosty cherry lip designed to capture the push-pull of a character who's performing desirability on her own terms. Red chrome claws with spine detailing by Caroline Cotten sealed it.

The Faces Worth Studying

Elsewhere, the week delivered in every category. Solange Knowles debuted a buzz cut with an intersecting cross design — the kind of move that makes every other hair decision look timid by comparison. Dua Lipa's look, assembled by Katie Jane Hughes, balanced blooming petal-pink blush against a sculpted gloss nude lip and featherweight brows: maximalism through restraint. Zara Larsson leaned full Y2K via makeup artist Sophia Sinot, all undulating blonde curls and sun-soaked maximalism, proving that summer as a beauty sensibility doesn't require an actual season. And at Billboard's Women in Music, Slayyyter arrived angelic — long blonde waves by Ricky Fraser, iridescent doe eyes and cherry lips by Lilly Keys — in a look that somehow balanced ethereal and campy without flinching.

Hairstylist Jenny Cho and makeup artist Nina Park rounded out the week with sleek, undone waves and a perfectly blurred lip — the kind of "effortless" that requires everyone in the room to know exactly what they're doing.

If your next salon appointment doesn't have a reference photo yet, consider this your sign: chrome, dégradé, or spine-detailed claws — beauty right now rewards the bold.
