The Aussies Take Antibes: Inside Zimmermann’s Summer Escape to the Côte d’Azur

Reported by Vogue.

A Mediterranean storm rolls in, waves crash the terrace, napkins go overboard, and CEO Roberto Eggs nearly loses his suit jacket to the sea — and somehow, every single guest still looks impeccable. That's the Zimmermann brand promise made literal. According to Vogue, sisters Nicky and Simone descended on Antibes' legendary Hôtel Belles Rives with nearly 100 guests for what became one of the Côte d'Azur's most chaotic — and most beautiful — nights of the summer.

The crowd alone was worth the flight: Jodie Turner-Smith, Poppy Delevingne, Eiza González, Jessie Ware, Blanca Suárez, and Gabriella Brooks arrived by boat at golden hour, while White Lotus season stars AJ Michalka and Chloe Bennet broke from seven weeks of filming in nearby Cannes just to eat a real meal. (The two maintain a WhatsApp group called "protein" dedicated entirely to tracking down actual food between shoots.) When the waves eventually swallowed the dance floor, the party simply migrated upstairs — damp hems, pavlova, Champagne, and all. Suki Waterhouse, in a lace corset over a floor-length skirt, performed a surprise set while Eiza González filmed from the front row and Waterhouse's sister Maddi captured it all on a retro camcorder.

The Morning After, But Make It Slim Aarons

Day two relocated to Villa Dorane — the 1950s Cap d'Antibes estate of photographer and automobile heir Jean "Johnny" Pigozzi — for a lunch that had no interest in ending quickly. Sydney-based chef Guillaume Brahimi, flown in by the Zimmermanns specifically for the trip, served Niçoise salad with tuna belly and sea bass crusted in rock salt alongside fennel and ratatouille. Chablis flowed. Jenga happened. An all-vinyl DJ booth took requests. Campaign models Abby Champion and Cara Taylor brought their mothers, who immediately bonded over a shared Alabama hometown.

Eventually, guests traded their dresses for swimsuits and took over Pigozzi's iconic pool — pastel sorbet in hand, DJ Mimi Xu on the decks — while the host himself documented everything on a waterproof point-and-shoot. The man has photographed Naomi Campbell, Sharon Stone, Elle Macpherson, and Bono poolside; the Zimmermann set was in good company. Every guest had woken that morning to find his Rizzoli book Pool Party placed on their pillow overnight — a detail so considered it almost felt like a scene from the brand's own lookbook.

Zimmermann didn't just throw a party — they built an entire world for 48 hours, proved that effortless glamour holds even when the Mediterranean is actively trying to ruin it, and reminded everyone that the best fashion moments never come from playing it safe.
