With the Jones Road Foundation Stick, Bobbi Brown Nails the Modern Skin Finish
Prepare to be impressed.

Foundation is having a reckoning. The full-coverage, matte-everything era is firmly behind us, and even industry stalwarts like Armani's Luminous Silk and Estée Lauder's Double Wear have been retooled to meet the current obsession with skin that looks like skin. According to Vogue, Bobbi Brown is the latest to answer the moment — and given her track record, it would be surprising if she missed.
Brown's Jones Road label already has a cult following for products like the Miracle Balm and the Blushing Stick, but the new Your Skin Foundation Stick is its most technically ambitious complexion offering yet. Brown describes it as a medium-to-full coverage formula that delivers "a satin finish with a breathable, lightweight feel" — engineered specifically to even out the complexion without flattening its natural texture. The formula leans hard into skin-first ingredients: ceramide NP, squalane, shea butter, and sodium hyaluronate work together to hydrate while you wear it, so the finish holds without settling or shifting. Thirty shades are available, and Brown says she personally developed and tested the shade-matching quiz on the Jones Road site to ensure accurate results across a wide range of skin tones.
How to Actually Use It
Getting the coverage calibrated was the hardest part of development — Brown admits the formula "either had too much or too little" before landing in the right place. One swipe neutralizes redness and softly blurs imperfections; build it and you get something closer to a second skin, never a mask. Application technique matters here: Brown recommends starting around the nose where coverage is most needed, then diffusing outward with a face brush, pressing the product in with fingertips to help it fully melt into skin. Skin prep is equally important — dry skin types should layer a light moisturizer underneath, while combination skin can often let the hydrating formula do the work on its own.
Within Jones Road's complexion lineup, the Foundation Stick occupies the higher-coverage end — sitting above the Just Enough Tinted Moisturizer and the buildable What The Foundation, making it the go-to for evenings out or any occasion that calls for staying power with polish. It's versatile enough to spot-conceal or go full-face, and strategic shade-layering (a lighter shade under the eyes, a deeper one for contour) gives it even more range.
When a beauty founder with Brown's decades of expertise builds a product designed to make coverage feel like nothing, you pay attention.
